I've been around accounting for my entire life. My mom is an accountant, and ever since I was a little girl I would "help her" balance the books. The joy that I got from helping her led me to get my Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Fresno State.
I’ve been fortunate in my 20+ years, to have been exposed to a wide variety of businesses within the accounting industry. I've gained experience while working for companies in public and private accounting, such as food services, manufacturing, agriculture, and in a variety of other professions. This variety helped me find the type of work that I love...
What I have found over the years is that I have a passion for helping small businesses and non-profit organizations. Often when I first start talking to someone about their needs, they don't even know where to start. I enjoy going over their business and learning what they really need help with, and how I can be a part of their solution. Sometimes it involves taking over daily accounting activities that they no-longer have time for. Other times its simply teaching them how to use QuickBooks. Whatever the need is, I'm happy to be a part of their team.
A question that I get asked often is "Why is your company called Baywood Bookkeeping, when you don't live anywhere near the bay?" The answer goes back to my childhood. I grew up in a small town in New Jersey, and the area that I lived in was called Baywood. I have a deep love for the water, and when deciding on a name for my company it was a natural choice.
